Starting this summer I’ll be kicking off a year of serving as Chair of the James Webb Space Telescopes (JWST) Users Committee (the JSTUC…we do love our acronyms in astronomy). I’ve served on the JSTUC for the past couple of years: we’re a group of 14 astronomers who advise the Space Telescope Science Institute and NASA on how to maximize JWST’s scientific performance and best serve the needs of its users. We advocate for the tools and support that people need to do great science with JWST, and serves as a communication conduit between current and future JWST users and the teams who keep JWST running. You can learn more about us, or email the chair (hi), on the JSTUC page, and we’ll also be hosting a couple of upcoming “Webbinars” (heh) this fall to discuss current JWST topics with the community. We hope to see you there!
