Extremely excited to share that I’ve been selected as a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow! An annual prize to support scientists, writers, scholars, and artists, I’ll be using my fellowship to help support my upcoming sabbatical research on “the weirdest stars in the universe”: Thorne-Zytkow objects! I’ll be studying their origins, evolution, mass loss, and potential observational signatures, with the goal of laying groundwork for a longer-term research program focused on these bizarre but incredibly interesting objects with the goal of understanding how they impact the study of massive stellar evolution, supernovae, compact objects, and the sources of gravitational waves! Many thanks to the Guggenheim Foundation for the recognition and support!
